New World Wine Regions

The wine world divides wine into two categories — new and old. It's less about style (although that can come into play) and is, instead, a nod to where the wine was grown. Old World countries — think Europe — were some of the original producers of wine. "New world" generally refers to countries and regions around the world where wine grapes and winemaking practices were imported from the Old World.

We've also highlighted the main growing areas in those places — not all of them, but enough to get you started. Finally, we've detailed the main grapes grown in that region.
